Thank you! I’ve been adopted!

My name is Roxy. I’m a BIG girl and I’m 4 years old! I’m up to date with my vaccinations. And though I was recently spayed I have had litters previously.

I am living with two other Danes as foster siblings and we get along well, though I do prefer when my playmate is a bit more chill and relaxed. I like snuggling in bed with my humans. I love to give delicate little kisses right on your face and I definitely do the “lean” thing.

I play well with my foster siblings outside, but I’m not totally sold on playing inside being allowed. I have to be encouraged/bribed to get into a car and I was hesitant to cuddle on the couch at first. Now, I love to lay on it and have my head on the arm.

I do have some resource guarding issues inside the house. I don’t like to share my food bowl while I’m eating and I’m not 100% sure on how to play with a toy with the other dogs, but my foster family is working on it with me. When it comes to table/counter surfing, I am a Dane – anything that smells like food must be investigated thoroughly. I’m especially interested in ice cream and anything in a crinkly bag.

When I arrived at my foster home, I wasn’t sure what a staircase was but now I know it leads to comfy beds and bathtime. I enjoyed the bath part of bathtime but don’t fully understand how to get into the tub. But my coat feels better and I’ve got less dandruff now.

So far, I like men and women but I haven’t been introduced to any children yet. While my foster home doesn’t have cats, I did travel with some to get here and was interested in them but let them be.

My foster mom says I’m a unicorn because I let them touch my feet with the nail trimmers (though I don’t like the Dremel tool) and I let them clean my ears. And I did it all without protesting. Heck, I even put on a head harness without any fuss.

I’m looking forward to finding my new home. My heart is just as big as me and I’m ready to share my love (and slobber) with a new family.

Before I go, I’d like to thank One Last Chance for pulling me from a high kill shelter (yes…they still exist 😪) and all the drivers for transporting me to my foster home. I wouldn’t be alive today without you ❤️
