    All questions followed by * must be completed before you can submit this Application.

    The first few questions will verify if you are eligible to adopt from us. If you are unsure about your eligibility, see our guidelines for eligibility in the Adoption Procedure.

    For clarification of our policy on young children, see our guidelines for this in our Adoption Policies.

  • Qualifying Criteria

    There is a $25 non-refundable Application Fee to process your Application and make it eligible for consideration. You can use Paypal, Interac, cash or send a cheque/money order. Payment of this fee does not guarantee that you will receive a dog.
    For safety reasons, we do NOT adopt Great Danes to homes with resident children under 8 years old.
    We do NOT adopt to high-rise occupants
  • As you progress through the Application, each section will be verified for required answers before you can progress to the next page.

    This includes any dog(s) you gave away.
  • Please note: If you adopt from DiD, the contractual agreement states that we must first get option to take the Dane back into rescue for re-adoption.
  • Extended absence is any period greater than 4 hours.
    Alone means without human company. REGULARLY means on a daily basis. e.g. If you work 8 hours daily, then the total time the Dane will be left alone must be entered as 8 unless you have made arrangements for someone to visit with your Dane in your absence.
  • e.g. doggie day-care, at a friend or relative's home.
  • e.g. dog bed, foam pad, small mattress, etc.
    Younger Danes will require regular, daily exercise for proper bone growth and muscular development.
  • Exercise in your back yard will not be adequate for a Dane unless you live in a rural setting and have acreage.
    Younger Danes will require some off leash exercise in secure areas.
    The more specific you are, the harder it may be to find a suitable Dane for you. Please remember that older Danes need a good home too and can provide many years of unconditional love.

    When you receive confirmation of your Application being entered into our database, it will contain the necessary instructions for the selected payment method.
