Otis

*** Adoption pending ***

Hi! My name is Otis.

I’m 3 years old, 145 pounds and I’m already so pleased that you’ve stopped by to read my story. People say that I am a “majestic looking dog” but those who really know me understand that I’m just a big, loveable goofball in disguise. Sure, I’m pretty big and handsome (like the canine version of Travis Kelce), but I’m also playful, loyal, great with cats and other dogs, kids, and basic commands like sit, down, and paw.

I have been in the Danes In Distress family since January with my foster folks. While we were all hoping for a foster fail, to no fault of his own, my sister Dane has a serious eye condition that is making her cranky and quite mean to me.

When I’m not hanging out with my humans, I’m usually sleeping on my favourite spot on the couch or heading out on one of my two walks a day. I’m a really great walker too. They say I’ve mastered loose leash walking skills which is apparently a big deal. And I love to sniff on my walks. I have been living on 7 acres with my foster family, but I have also lived in the suburbs, so I’m quite flexible.

I do have a bit of a wonky gait, and sometimes it takes me a few minutes in the morning to get up, while I get my bearings.

I am looking for a foster/adoptive home where stairs are not a daily part of my life (a few up and down are ok!) where there is a playful fur friend to enjoy, but also ok to be an only pup so I get all the love!

If you’re looking to add a dog like me to your family, there’s only one more thing you should know. I will do my best to make you happy. Here’s hoping we get a chance to meet.

Your new best friend,
Otis.
