Thank you, I have been adopted!

 

If Jolly was asking she’d say, “Don’t forget to tell them I like lots of loving, a warm lap, and how clever I am with my puzzle toys …. Oh and do you think they might have a dog brother for me who will be my BFF?”

This pretty girl Jolly is a real jewel. At 4 years old, she was surrendered with another female and a male Great Dane. They had regularly been used for breeding but we do not know how many litters she has had, as there were no medical records.

Jolly’s foster mom has delighted in watching this girl’s confidence grow. As she puts it, “She’s doing Danetastic!”

She is such a sweet, affectionate (kisses and hugs always available) attentive girl, who only wants to be where her people are. We don’t believe she has had much exposure regarding leash walking but with each outing, Jolly gains more confidence and walks well on her leash. She looks to her person for reassurance (gentle praise, treats and not rushing her) on busy streets, if she hears loud noises or alerts to some men approaching. Interactions need to be managed by the handler, no rushing up by people is allowed, no that’s rude for such ‘a lady’.

Having another dog in the home or if the person/s are home bodies would be best suited for Jolly as she has shown herself to be unsettled when left on her own. A quieter neighbourhood would also be better, semi-rural or rural, ideal. Not a busy household.
